Introduction
------------

The AcornElectronKeyboard distribution provides schematic and circuit layout
files for use with KiCad describing the keyboard of the Acorn Electron
microcomputer. This microcomputer was designed and produced by Acorn Computers
of Cambridge, United Kingdom starting from initial work in around 1982, with
commercial availability from 1983 onwards.

The following principal resources are provided:

AcornElectronKeyboard.kicad_pcb The circuit board layout (currently empty)

AcornElectronKeyboard.pro The KiCad project file

AcornElectronKeyboard.sch The circuit schematic providing the
relationships between components

AcornElectronKeyboard.lib Component library containing a definition
for the keyswitch used in the keyboard
circuit

Overview
--------

Starting with the availability of a schematic, the initial objective of this
distribution is to provide a convenient reference for the Acorn Electron
keyboard, its components, and the connections between these components. With
such information recorded and suitably encoded, the possibility may emerge of
designing circuit boards that replicate some or all of the described circuit,
potentially with modifications and enhancements.

Note that the mainboard is not described in this distribution. A separate
AcornElectronMainboard distribution is to be made available for such purposes.
